A Mythic Portal into the Year Ahead

Dear ones,

Can you feel it? Something new emerging? A big wave of energy? An invitation for everything we are manifesting to arrive - maybe all at once? Maybe more than we knew we asked for?

A Moment to Dream

While many are rushing into 2024, in the Chinese system, January finds us still basking in the end of the lunar year. If you’re in the northern hemisphere, this dead of winter invites us into the final moments of deep dreaming - like a seed receiving the nourishment of the yin that potentiates all of our growth and action in the year ahead.

While 2023 was marked by rabbit-year inwardness, intimacy, and maybe timid fear, 2024 welcomes the year of the dragon, one of the ultimate yang symbols in the Chinese system.

Now before you get excited, I invite you to consider just how big a dragon is. From an eastern perspective, it is said that one dragon scale encompasses the whole night sky 🌌.

Can you ride that big a wave? Our capacity depends on how well we listen in moments like these to what we are truly inviting in a year like this:

What are you really asking for? What is your mind saying vs. your subconscious, vs. your soul?

Heady, rash, or muddled intentions are sure to get us bucked on the ride that will be this year, which is why the realm of dreams matters. Your dreams are a bodily process that allows for truth to be generated from the restorative realm of the void, the yin, the feminine primordial energy of creation. Beyond the thinking mind, beyond the ego, gently touching your truth.

Dreams are big, just maybe big enough to fly side by side with dragon energy. To dream we must slow, let the body relax, and let go into le petit mort (small death) of the night.

How well we rest and notice what our bodies gestate, will say everything about how we make use of one of the most potent years for manifestation in the decade to come.

Year of the Dragon

Spaces for Exploration & Cultivation

The lunar new year officially kicks off on Feb 10th. Over the coming months, I’m going to be sharing multiple spaces, tools, and practices to help us make the best use possible of Dragon year.

Why: to say this is going to be a big year is an understatement. If you are working on transformative ventures, shifting consciousness, or cultivating your own awakening, it would behoove us to make good use of this year - what happens this year will inform generations to come.

2024 Chinese Astrology Reading & Space

Every year, my dear friend and amazing Mantic Arts practitioner Seannan Zook does a thorough reading of the energies of the year ahead. I’ve been working with Seannan for years now and he draws from a deep one of Daoist and Confucian cosmology.

I’ll be holding a two-part series diving into this energetic reading:

1. Talk Reflections & Visioning: Our first call will offer space to review Seannan’s talk, share reflections, and connect with each other. I will also guide a meditation to tap into the energy for ourselves and envision the year ahead with what Dragon year affords us. 🤍

2. Group call Q&A w/ Seannan: I’ll also be holding a special group reading/session with Seannan. On this call, we will address Q&As, personal questions and/or anything you’d like to know in greater depth to support you in the year ahead.

Dragon Energy for Leaders + Portals Live Energy Experience

I’ll be hosting two other spaces in the months to come:

• What do Dragons have to do with Business? A special energy session specifically for business leaders to receive the energy of the year (and to channel their insights and reflections for the business community at large).

• Portals: The Dance of The White Dragon An in-person art/energy experience in Santa Fe channeling Quan Yin and her White Dragon in service to liberation for all beings through unconditional compassion. (*this session will be made available virtually following the session for those unable to attend live)

*A note about the energies of the year. In the Eastern tradition, the energy of the year builds over time. We are not in it yet, at all. The official shift starts Feb 10th and not before. And the full expression of Dragon energy will only fully present itself through spring into summer. In a society accustomed to “having everything now”, the idea of pacing is contrary. But what is available NOW, is the gift of NOW. And for now, we are in winter, we are in rabbit.

So to your sensitivities, I say thank you, for the fullness of your expression this past year, for preparing us with our deepest knowing, and capacity to feel what is true, in preparation to enact these truths in the world with the energy to come.

So with that, sweet dreaming my dear bunnies. Let the soft bodies of your spirit feel what’s available for you and allow you to live into the gifts of who, what, and all you trust - most importantly, yourself.
